My furniture designs are composed of using common 4 x 8 sustainable sheets plywood that is CNC’ed and then assembled, and they are then joined together using simple hardwood dowels and tension. My furniture designs similar to the nomadic style of living, lightweight furniture that can be folded, be un-assembled, or is disposable and can be recycled.
I first develop my furniture designs on a small one-third sized scale first laser cutting prototypes, test fitted and assembled. These mock-up designs are made from the same material and a third of its size. After making my prototypes, the design is then refined as far as form and function, then scaled up for production.
Art as Therapy
Art Therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The creative process involved in expressing one’s self artistically can help people to resolve issues as well as develop and manage their behaviors and feelings, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem and awareness.
You don’t need to be talented or an artist to receive the benefits, and there are professionals that can work with you to dive into the underlying messages communicated through your art, which will aid in the healing process.
